I just realized that I’ve been pathologically misspelling Chris Mautner’s last name, and he’s been too polite to say anything. I have used the way-back machine to correct these errors, but I always like to put my stupidity on the record.

As someone who’s been saying “No, not like the grape juice” for most of his life, you’d think I’d be more careful.

I wonder if I spelled it right? LOL! I had to marry an ‘Anderson’, to get people to just stop mis-spelling ‘Kolesnik’.

I think I should probably just start an entire category for “Corrections.” When the wave of comics from Eastern Europe comes, I think the proofreading part of my brain will simply implode.

Tina, I went in the opposite direction. Having spent my entire life correcting the spelling of my first name (people always want to make it “Bridget”) I abandoned my monosyllabic maiden name (“Mast—like on a ship”) for what I thought was a fairly simple last name. Alas, people have found almost as many creative way to misspell my last name (Alberson, Albertson, Iverson) as my first.

David, don’t feel bad. So many people were misspelling Chris’s last name that I began to wonder if I was the one getting it wrong—so I Googled it just to make sure.

I’m digressing, but I really think someone should use “Mast Alverson” as the name of a character in a historical adventure, preferably about explorers.

    I like that! ^_^

I think ‘Mast Alverson’ is destined for a career in hardcore porn. 0_0.

  7. Actually Dave, I didn’t even notice until I googled this link. Don’t worry about it. As Brigid mentioned, EVERYONE gets my last name wrong.
